Athletes in the NFL are some of the most athletically gifted individuals on earth. They can run, jump, and dunk better than regular people, and they’re more likely to have a body type designed for their sport. But how fast do they get? Here’s a list of the 10 fastest players in the NFL today. This list is based on 40 yard dash times and other speed tests that we’ve seen throughout their careers, such as Pro Day workouts or Combine Events.
Do you think these guys will make it onto our top ten list? What about your favorite fastest football player? Check out this article to find out!
Who Is the Fastest Player in the NFL?
There are many metrics to gauge the fastest player in the NFL, and there’s really no way to say definitively who it is. Chris Johnson ran a 4.24 second 40 yard dash at the 2008 NFL Combine to give you an idea. At the same time, Deion Sanders ran a time of 4.27 seconds while wearing his track shoes during tryouts for the San Francisco 49ers.
As such, I guess it could be said that Chris Johnson is the fastest NFL player ever. If we’re just basing it on those two numbers alone. However, because not all players will run as fast as they can with pads on, some didn’t have their best performance yet at tryouts like Deion Sanders.
